Anusha Soni is a Delhi-based advocate specialising in international commercial arbitration, cross-border disputes, commercial litigation, and constitutional law. She represents and advises clients on complex commercial and public law matters, combining rigorous legal analysis with a nuanced understanding of the commercial, regulatory, and geopolitical considerations that increasingly shape modern dispute resolution. She regularly advises corporations, entrepreneurs, and commercial entities on cross-border transactions, contractual risk management, and dispute resolution strategies across multiple jurisdictions, including Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Ms. Soni holds an LL.B. from the University of London and a Master’s degree in Asian Studies from the University of Amsterdam. She was awarded the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Fellowship and has further specialised in dispute resolution through a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration and Treaty Arbitration from National Law University, Delhi. She was a recipient of the scholarship instituted by Justice Indu Malhotra, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Patron-in-Chief of the programme.

Her practice encompasses commercial arbitration, shareholder and partnership disputes, contractual claims, cross-border transactions, enforcement proceedings, and constitutional litigation. Drawing upon her multidisciplinary academic background, she brings a strategic understanding of the legal, commercial, and geopolitical dimensions of complex disputes.

Ms. Soni has appeared before the Supreme Court of India in significant constitutional matters, including proceedings before the nine-judge Constitution Bench arising out of the Sabarimala reference. She has also been associated with proceedings in the landmark hate speech matter before the Supreme Court, involving important questions relating to constitutional governance, fundamental rights, and democratic accountability.

She regularly advises clients on the drafting, negotiation, and enforcement of commercial contracts, with a particular focus on international business relationships and dispute-avoidance mechanisms. Her work combines rigorous legal analysis with a commercially driven approach to dispute resolution.

Prior to entering legal practice, Ms. Soni spent over a decade as a legal journalist and editor with leading national media organisations, including CNN-News18, India Today, Times Network, Business Standard, and NDTV. She extensively covered the Supreme Court of India, constitutional developments, legislative reform, and public policy issues. Her writings and commentary on constitutional and national affairs have been widely published and have contributed to public discourse on significant legal and governance issues.

Ms. Soni’s unique combination of litigation, arbitration, policy, and media experience enables her to provide clients with a comprehensive perspective on high-value commercial disputes, cross-border legal issues, and matters involving constitutional significance.
